« mémoire voilée » – 140 x 160 x 4 cm (resin, wood, flowers, acrylic, pigments, coffee)

This originally colorful landscape from my childhood with angels that have the keys to access paradise (my grandparents village, Neufmoulin, in north of France). It was covered by a « veil », a mix of coffee, terracotta, charcoal pigments, resin and some dried flowers, leaves and wood from the garden of my studio.

The final result is like a faded photograph or an old slide; where memory blurs the details.
This veil transforms the scene into a trace, suspended between presence and disappearance. A blurry burning memory.
